TCU Undergraduate Transfer Procedures; Jinsi Ya Kuhama Chuo Au Kozi

First year students transfers are of two categories:
  • Inter- University Transfer, and
  • Intra-University Transfer.

Inter-University transfe

Inter-University transfer allows a selected student to transfer from one Institution to another, whether within the same or different
programme whereas

Intra -University transfer

Intra -University transfer allows students to change a programme within an institution.

Conditions for transfer/Sababu za uhamisho

  • Applications for transfers should be submitted in writing through the institution to which a student wants to transfer to;
  • The student to be transferred must have been previously admitted into a degree programme;
  • The programme to which transfer is sought must have empty slots to accommodate new students;
  • The applicant must possess the minimum entry requirements for that particular degree programme;
  • Receiving Institutions/ Faculty should approve the transfer in writing and submit to TCU for validation and documentation within the set deadline.

FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS TRANSFER PROCEDURES FOR THE 2022/2023 ACADEMIC YEAR

INTRODUCTION
The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) wishes to inform the public and all admitted students into various undergraduate degree programmes in the 2022/2023 academic year that the transfer window is open from 31 October to 13 November, 2022.

TRANSFER PROCEDURES

Transfer procedures for the first-year students wishing to transfer from one university to another, whether the same or different programme (inter-university transfer) or from one programme to another within an institution (intra-university transfer) are as follows:
a) Applications for transfers should be submitted in writing to the institution to which a student wants to transfer to;
b) Students transfer from one institution to another or programme within the institution is permissible provided that institutions shall comply with the following conditions:
  • The student to be transferred must have been previously admitted into a degree programme in the current academic year;
  • The programme to which transfer is sought must have empty slots to accommodate new students; and
  • The applicant must possess the minimum entry requirements for that particular degree programme.
c) All transfers shall be processed at the receiving institution; and
d) Receiving institutions should approve the transfer through their respective Senates/Boards and submit it to TCU for
validation within the set deadline

National Council for Technical Education (nacte) NACTE is an abbreviation of ( National Council for Technical Education ) is a corporate body established by the National Council for Technical Education Act, 1997 (Act No. 9 of 1997). The Act provides a legal framework for the Council to  coordinate provision of technical education and training and establish an efficient national qualifications system that will ensure that products from technical institutions are of high quality and respond to changing needs as well as technological innovations in the world.
