Singida borders Manyara Region to the North, Dodoma Region to the East, Mbeya and Iringa Regions to the South and Tabora and Simiyu Regions to the West. Singida Region was officially established on October 15, 1963 which was previously the Central Province of Dodoma.
Singida Region is located in central Tanzania, between Distance 33027'5 '' and 35026'0 '' east of Greenwich, and between latitudes 3052 'and 7034' South of the Equator.

Economic activities in Singida Region include agriculture which employs an average of 86% of the total population. The main crops for food are millet, sorghum, cassava and sweet potatoes and for commercial crops are sunflower, onion, cotton and sesame. Other productive activities are livestock, small-scale mining, small-scale manufacturing and trade.
