  • North East is bordered by Chunya District (Mbeya)
  • South borders Nkansi Nkansi District (Rukwa)
  • South East it borders Sumbawanga District (Rukwa)
  • West borders the Republic of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
  • Northwest is bordered by Kigoma Region
