College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANRE) is an autonomous campus college of the Institute for Environment and Development Studies (IEDS) which is a privately owned institute aimed at promoting environmental sustainability, development and managed of natural resources in Tanzania .College of Agriculture and Natural Resource has full registration as a Technical Education and training Institution under provisions of NACTE with registration number REG/ANE/024.
College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANRE) has had a long and lustrous journey as a centre of academic excellence. This was the primary goal of establishing CANRE. Tanzania is rich in culture, vast land, and mineral resources but most importantly, this nation is blessed to have a competitive and vibrant youth with immense talents and gifts.

Over the years, since its establishment, CANRE has produced able work force in the Tanzanian market and out of Tanzania. Our students have been agents of change in the various positions they have held.

CANRE prides itself in employing qualified lecturers who are well aware of what the market demands. This enables them to prepare the students for the work place.

In the quest for equality and chance, CANRE, has over the years sponsored students from needy families and the physically challenged achieve their dream of higher education. This sponsorship programhas seen a number of students who would otherwise have been left without education get a chance to accomplish their life’s goals.

Integrity, team work, passion, excellence and determination remain CANRE’s strong pillars of operation. We firmly embrace them and have become the lifeblood of the college.

  • The mission of the College is to provide professional training to students, providing appropriate knowledge and skills relevant to the needs of government, private sector and farming community.The College aims at excellence in training, research and active participation in community outreach programs in order to promote sustainable livelihoods in rural areas.

How to Apply
Diploma and Certificate applicants

Applicants wishing to be enrolled into various Diploma and Certificate programmes should apply online or by filling application forms which can be obtained from the Office of Co-ordinator of Studies in the Main Administration Building. Joining Information together with application forms can be downloaded from our website .Applications to all programmes must be accompanied by a non-refundable application fee of Ten Thousand shillings only (10,000) for Tanzanians and USD 20 for Foreigner applicants paid through CRDB Bank Limited. Account Name – College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. Account Number 0150450021800. Branch Name, Tabata Branch or any CRDB branch Countrywide.

i) All applications must be accompanied by genuine copies of relevant certificates, two passport size photographs. Applications without photocopies of certificates and bank pay slip will not be considered
ii) Applications with Foreign Secondary School Certificates should be accompanied by National Examinations Council (NECTA) Equivalence translations.
iii) All applicants should meet the minimum stated qualifications. Applications which will not meet stated qualifications will not be processed
