Bahi District is one of the seven districts of the Dodoma Region of Tanzania. Bahi District is bordered to the north by Chemba District, to the east by Dodoma District and Chamwino District, and to the west by Singida Region. Its administrative seat is the town of Bahi.
Thisdistrict was officially established in 2007 and has a total of 5,948 square kilometers with 4 Divisions, 22 Wards, 59 Villages and 553 neighborhoods. According to the population and housing census of 2012, the District has 221,645 people of whom 105,975 are men ( 47.8%) and women are 115,670 (52.2%).

THE ECONOMY OF THE DISTRICT

The District's economy is based on agricultural and animal husbandry activities. Food crops are sorghum, sorghum, sweet potatoes, cassava, corn, rice, pulses, peas, and groundnuts. Commercial crops include sesame, sunflower and peanuts. In addition, the animals that are raised are cows, goats, sheep, donkeys, pigs, chickens, ducks and chickens.Estimated resident income for the year 2007 was 206,000.00, currently this income is estimated to increase to 427,489 equal to 207.5% increase.

POLITICAL SITUATION

The political situation is stable where the District has seven active political parties which are CCM, CUF, SAU, CHADEMA, TLP, NCCR-Mageuzi and ACT-Wazalendo. 
In addition, the District has 22 Councilors to be elected, 6 special seats and 1 Member of Parliament to be elected; The situation of protection and security is good and all government agencies together are fulfilling their responsibilities.
